A Guide to the Best of London Design Week

Events | 08.03.2019

London Design Week, an event that glimmers in London's interior design calendar, is fast approaching. From Sunday 10th March, just down the road from the Andrew Martin showroom at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour, there will be a world of inspiration for homemakers and interior designers alike. With so much creativity to explore, we've selected our top talks, workshops and events and places to eat along the way.

Conversations In Design

From the many illuminating talks and panel discussions throughout the week, there are two in particular we are excited by....

Design Heritage: Inspired by the Past to Reimagine the Future

Sunday 10 March, 11:30am - 12:30pm

As the stylised lines and nostalgic romance of bygone eras whisper through all the AM collections, it is no surprise that a conversation on Design Heritage is one of our top picks. Hosted by Homes and Gardens, three critically acclaimed designers - Russel Sage, Beata Heuman and Katherine Pooley - will discuss the rich design heritage of the past and the way in which it has and will continue to shape our design future.

Michael Anastassiades: Working With Light

Tuesday 12 March, 11.30am - 12.30pm

With the launch of our brand new lighting gallery at the Walton St showroom, illuminating design for your home is on the tip of our lips at the moment. In conversation with creative consultant Sarah Miller, London-based designer Michael Anastassiades will give an insightful view of the current trends and aesthetics for lighting, furniture and spatial design.

Kit Kemp: Design Thread

Thursday 14 March, 6 - 7pm

Friend of Andrew Martin and design collaborator, Kit Kemp will be talking to Fiona McCarthy about her new book Design Thread which features lovely images from our recent Kit Kemp Collection. Kit will discuss how to tell a story in interior design, a theme which runs strongly through the folk-inspired fabrics and wallpapers of the collection.

Workshops

Malin & Goetz: Uncomplicate Your Travel Regime

Thursday 14 March, 3.30pm

As our Founder, Martin spends over 100 days of the year exploring the world's playground of treasures and designing hotels, homes and more in some of the world's most beautiful destinations, this workshop struck a chord. Cult beauty brand Malin & Goetz advise on how to create comfort and organisation when travelling, allowing for more inspiration-filled romance to flow. For all those with a similar streak for design wandering, we'll see you there.

Judith Wilson: Global Interior Styling

Friday 15 March, 2pm
