The Sefton sofa: calm, comfort, and balance

The Sefton sofa takes its name from the English village of Sefton in Merseyside - the name meaning "a town where rushes grow". That same sense of place runs through the design: calm, natural, and grounded in relaxed living rather than show.

Sefton is all about balance. The sloping arms soften its profile, while the straight back keeps it steady and composed. A single full-width seat cushion creates one long, uninterrupted sit - a generous landing space to stretch out, supported by pocket springs in the base for lasting comfort. Three oversized back cushions and arm bolsters are finished with flange detailing for a more relaxed feel.

The core of any good sofa starts with the frame, ours are made from solid birch hardwood, which is kiln dried to add strength and prevent warping. This is then glued, stapled and screwed to create an extremely strong structure.
