At the start of 2022, we teamed up with Carma as a move towards making Andrew Martin a more carbon neutral company, whilst also supporting our Veteran community within the UK and some of the poorest communities around the world.
At Andrew Martin our deep-rooted connection to the romance of travel and our wanderlust for different cultures and environments across the globe has consistently informed our designs. From wallpaper prints and fabric patterns to the design and manufacture of our furniture. In appreciation of the natural world and the rich source of inspiration it continues to provide, we wanted to start thinking about how we can give back and look for ways to reduce our impact on the planet.
This ethos, combined with our desire to become a more carbon neutral company led to the start of a strong partnership with Carma, an organisation who are focused on the reforestation of the planet through empowering local communities around the world.
In the UK, Carma collaborate with the Green Task Force to help reintegrate our ex-servicemen and women into society through vocational training. This incredible work not only gives each veteran a recognised qualification and route to employment, it also aids their recovery from PTSD and other conflict related issues through Nature Based Therapy.
Overseas, they collaborate with the Eden Reforestation Projects to work with remote communities in some of the world's poorest nations, including Nepal, Haiti and Madagascar. They work closely with local people to cultivate, plant and protect thousands of trees every month. Through this valuable environmental work, essential jobs are created to provide long term support to the economy and the restoration of local environments.
Our pledge is to plant a tree for every order placed from January 2022 onwards because incredible interiors shouldn't cost the earth!
