Named after Mapperton House, this is exactly the kind of richly ornate fabric you'd expect to find in the interiors. With a mille-fleurs background, a raging lion and a prancing unicorn, this fabric is reminiscent of The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries from Flanders in the Middle Ages. The first five of these tapestries, which date back to the 15th century, are said to evoke the senses, played out by a finely robed lady, a lion, a unicorn and sometimes a monkey. Mapperton is found in the same regal red, blue and gold colours and each time you look at it you see a new magical vignette unfold.
