We picked our favourite pooches from Holly’s extensive catalogue of paintings to create a range of joyful cushions you can’t help but smile at.

It was a few years ago that we began work on our first collaboration with artist Holly Frean and unknowingly started creating one of our best loved designs. Featuring Holly's ever so charming animal illustrations our Animalis wallpaper and Noah multi fabric have graced the walls and spaces of many a beautiful room, providing inspiration for imaginative children and adults alike. So, as we continue to swoon over all the enchanting nurseries or playrooms we are tagged in on Instagram, we thought it was high time to join forces with Holly again for a brand new collection!

An illustrator with a background in architecture, Holly's beautifully fluid and distinct painting style is instantly recognisable whatever the subject matter. But there's a particular type of animal which, in our opinion, she portrays perfectly. With mischievous eyes, scruffy ears and animated noses her dog paintings capture everything we love about our four-legged friends and when it came to selecting the characters we wanted to include in this collection of cushions and fabrics, well you can imagine just how hard it was!
In the end we selected six distinct characters, each with their own personality, to grace the fronts of these soft and plump cushions. Wilson, Herbert, Rufus, Basil and Hot Dog Peggy are accompanied by Sandy the Rabbit to create an irresistibly joyful cushion collection. Of course, we had to sneak a few extra canine personalities in there too, in the form of three colourful tiled designs: Team Terrier, Spot the Difference and Doggy Mixture, the last of which is also available as a fabric by the metre.

Each design has been printed onto our robust and practical Trek linen fabric and the cushions have been finished with complimentary velvet piping. In a stony neutral shade the colour and texture of the fabric contributes to the collections rustic, pastoral feel and lets Holly's artistic style really sing. Warm cream, brown and grey shades are punctuated with vivid cobalt blue, mauve and orange to create a diverse and playful colour palette that gives this classic style piece a contemporary twist, perfect for country homes and urban retreats alike.
